The Last Dinner Party
Known for their distinctive sound, baroque-inspired costume and opulent visuals, the London-based indie rock band has quickly claimed their place as one of the hottest emerging acts in the music scene. Their 2024 Autumn tour gave Lighting Designer Ed Warren the perfect opportunity to work his magic.
Warren and Tour Manager Nick Jenkins teamed up with Lights Control Rigging (LCR) with a unique vision to bring their creative designs to life. With a clear understanding of our inventory, we worked to ensure that the lighting setup would suit each venue’s unique requirements. The design required three scalable versions of the lighting rig (A, B, and C), customised to accommodate various stage sizes and configurations across the UK leg of the tour. Additionally, a separate rig was tailored for the EU leg. Key fixtures included GLP Impression X4 Bar20 and JDC1 Strobe, Ayrton Kyalami and Rivale, Roxx Cluster Blinder and Astera AX9 PowerPAR.
Warren’s choice of vibrant colours and mesmerising effects amplified the band’s operatic rock anthems, creating an immersive and unforgettable visual experience that resonated deeply with audiences.
Kicking off to a great start in Belfast on the 18th of September and wrapping up in Prague on the 10th of November, Warren’s vision perfectly captured the essence of The Last Dinner Party’s theatrical and eclectic sound.
Nick Jenkins praised the team at LCR stating,
“After a long and illustrious relationship with LCR with other artists, it was time to see what they could do with the theatrical beast that is The Last Dinner Party. The band themselves co-designed with the incredible Ed Warren and Ed figured out how to capture it in real life.
I can speak for the band and their management, QPrime when I say that the end result was stunning. As always, 100% professionalism from Rob Watson at all stages of the quoting. All crew supplied worked so hard every day to make it all happen. Thanks to everyone from LCR for putting so much time and effort into it, as usual.”
