Snow Patrol
Inspired by their eighth studio album, ‘Forest Is The Path’, this run was a celebration of rock, emotion, and immersive storytelling, brought vividly to life by Lighting and Show Designer Davy Sherwin. His creative vision transformed each venue, immersing fans into an ethereal, forest-like dreamscape, matching the colours of lighting to the video projections.
To achieve this, we collaborated with Davy to supply a range of powerhouse fixtures, each carefully chosen for a specific role.
The rig featured four Kinesys-automated trusses equipped with COLORado PXL Curve 12 fixtures that moved dynamically, sculpting shapes in the air and on stage. Overhead, Ayrton Khamsins and Chauvet Professional Color STRIKE Ms delivered bold lighting effects. Further automation came via 13 Walberg winches carrying Martin Professional MAC Ones, which dropped in at key moments. Between the video screens, ACME Super Dotline lighting towers extended the video content, while ACME PixelLine IPs framed the screens. Ayrton Kyalamis mounted on external ladders and Ayrton Khamsins on the floor anchored the scenes with grounded, directional lighting.
As the band performed, the lighting design evolved with the setlist, sometimes subtly complementing the backdrop, and at other times taking centre stage.
The seamless integration of automation, lighting, and video created an unforgettable experience. An experience that truly reflected the spirit of Forest Is The Path.
When asking Davy why he chose LCR as the lighting vendor for this tour, he said:
“I have a very long-lasting relationship with LCR – especially Mike and Ryan. They’ve been involved with Snow Patrol for the last 20 odd years. The service you get and the attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s all about the detail, how everything is packaged. Their equipment is top notch, and they have everything I need. The crew LCR provide are second to none.”
